Canty with William Taylor on medieval clarsach performs medieval chant and beautiful new works written specially for the group about the Celtic saints of Ireland and Scotland.
This sequence of beautiful music takes performers and listeners on a journey through the mysteries and miracles of Celtic saints including Columba, Brigit, Kentigern (Mungo) and Patrick, following in their footsteps as they changed the lives of Scottish and Irish people in the Dark Ages. Water turns to beer, the dumb find a voice, a dead bird takes wing once again and an adulterous queen is saved by a miraculous salmon!

Celtic Miracles Singing Workshop
Led by Edward Caswell,
Outreach Director of Cappella Nova
Singers of all abilities including complete beginners are welcome to take part in this workshop. Come and discover some of the medieval Celtic chants featured in Canty’s concert (details above). We’ll also help you to enjoy your voice more with tips about vocal health and happy singing. You don’t have to take part in the concert, but those who do will help to give the first performance in modern times of medieval music about St Cannice/Kenneth!
Participants are entitled to a discount on the concert ticket if booked through Cappella Nova.
